1-7 September With the continuing contraction of the British aircraft industry the limelight of the show was taken by the RAF and Navy's show. Two aircraft did not quite make the show. The prototype of the Herald, now with Dart engines crashed while on its way to the show . The other, one of the navys Sea Hawks crashed at Blackbushe on the Monday.
