Farnborough is lucky to be surrounded by several other airfields. Here are some details.....
Blackbushe lies some five miles north of Farnborough as is a busy general aviation airfield. Open in 1941 it served as a bomber base during WW2. In 1947 it opened as a civil airport, serving as London's second airport prior to closure in 1960. In 1961 it reopened in its current state.
This historic hosts four flying schools, and many privately owned aircraft. The airport is easily accessible from the A30 road and M3 junction 4a with all aircraft easily visable.
